Use Perfectionism to Decrease Procrastination

🌟 How to use perfectionism to decrease procrastination 🌟

Both procrastination and perfectionism plague many entrepreneurs. Both can drastically slow down success. 🥺

But wait…

There are a couple of types of perfectionism:

>> Socially-oriented – which involves having high standards that are set by other people. This type leads to MORE procrastination.

>> Self-oriented – which means having high standards for yourself that don’t have anything to do with other people. This type leads to less procrastination.

For example, if you want to do a video on social media

❌ If your thoughts are: “I hope I look okay, I hope I’m dressed okay, I hope my hair looks okay, I hope people don’t think the topic is dumb, I hope I get some views…” It’s going to be hard to accomplish that task because you’re so concerned about the social outcome. You’ll likely avoid doing it because the chances are very low that you’ll actually be perfect.

✅If your thoughts are: “I want to speak on this important topic, do the best I can with the 15 minutes I have, and put it out there so people can benefit.”

Don’t those just feel different?

Tip 1: Develop your own high standards for your work and try to remove the “what will they think?” thoughts from the equation.

Tip 2: Change your definition of “perfect” to something more realistic. “The best I can do in the amount of time I have allotted” is my version of perfection.

Please let me know how this sits with you!
