Entrepreneurial Decision Fatigue: Are the little things stopping you from doing the big things? 🤔
“decision fatigue is mental exhaustion resulting from the sheer number of decisions a person must make daily, leading to difficulty making—or making good—decisions.”
How to know if you suffer from decision fatigue:
> Your willpower is depleted by the end of the day
> You make a lot of in-the-moment decisions about what to focus on
> You chronically procrastinate
> You feel overwhelmed by all the things to do
> You make choices you regret
> You tend to just say “Yes” or “No” to things right away, without taking the energy and time to make a good decision
Decision fatigue is especially detrimental to entrepreneurs – whose entire business success depends on their decisions and what they choose to do… or not to do.
Here are some tips for combatting entrepreneurial decision fatigue:
- Create a plan… that WILL lead to you hitting your goals, if executed.
- Create a repeating schedule… One that includes all the daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly tasks you need to complete in order to follow the plan.
- Do the same stuff over and over again in your personal life. Eat the same breakfast, work out at the same time, create a positive morning and evening routine.
- Eliminate distractions. Close social media. Turn the volume off on your phone for a few hours. Each time a distraction comes up, it requires you to make a decision to stay focused. The fewer times you have to decide to focus, the better.
